You Are New York

Back in early May, when New York’s Governor Cuomo decided to host a contest, asking New Yorker’s to submit “Wear a Mask” PSAs convincing everyone and their mother to wear a mask for a shot at having their advertisement aired on television, we sprang into action. Our concept “New York, Protect Yourself” is an anthem that features the many faces of New York from the doorman to the first responder, to the teacher to the woman who communes with pigeons (you know the one), all wearing masks and keeping one another safe.

So, how did we manage to pull off a polished submission promoting this life saving message in barely 10 days? With a lot of help from our friends! Polyester pitched in to draw over sixty New Yorker portraits and bring them to life. Walker helped us cast our VO and find the beat of New York. Many thanks to them both. And while we didn’t win, we still felt like winners, kinda.

I contributed drawings of my coworkers and myself:
